Pre-Halloween Whitman Visit

“Walt Whitman is the most popular school ever, and we made BCCP known.”

Whitman Students @ BC

Walt Whitman Middle School 246 had a ton o’ fun; some say this was the best field trip  they’ve had so far. Check out thes pictures of their campus tour…

We had fun at the Student Center and you missed it!

BCAL’s first Formidable Friday kicked off last week with a visit to the Rec Room in the Brooklyn College Student Center. We played awesome games of pool and ping pong, enjoyed 2k8, Mortal Kombat vs D.C., Call of Duty, and Smash Bros Brawl on the Wii and Playstation, listened to some hot music and ate some delicious pizza. It was a blast!

BCAL Hosts Campus Experience Day

Over 150 students from 5 Brooklyn high schools traveled to the Brooklyn College Art Lab for Campus Experience Day on April 19th, 2007. Gina Nurse, an Admissions Counselor for Brooklyn College, partnered up with BCCP to provide a three-hour event which included presentations on admissions and scholarships, classroom experience, a campus tour, and lunch. Site Directors Denise Page (George Wingate Campus) and David Goodman (BCAL) worked closely with Nurse to make the day a success. “It was great to work alongside people who share the same goals and values as our organization,” said Goodman.

Participating students had a great experience as well. James Beca, a student at Paul Robeson High School had this to say, “I liked the radio station and the 24 hour computer lab the most.” When asked if he has made a decision to attend, he replied, “I’m going to check out my other options, but Brooklyn College is definitely at the top of the list.”
